Over the next few weeks we here at Stools & Chairs will be receiving new products. Today, I am proud to introduce you our Enna Reception Chairs. This chair was built to last, so perfect in your reception, or as a waiting room chair or even in the corner of your home office. The Enna Chair is coupled with a woven polyester fabric that is long lasting and looks and feels great. Currently loving this. Stark red contrast on minimalist living. I’ll let the picture speak for itself. Just got stock in store as well! Click here to buy Red Tolix Chairs
There has been a great deal of interest in our Provincial Bar Stools, so I went searching the internet for some great examples of bar stools but came across these beautiful gems I had to share.
Firstly we have a beautiful example of a kitchen/dining/living space that gives that organised chaos feel. Loving the mismatched Hans Wegner Wishbone Chairs and Eames DCW Sidechair on the other side.
I also found this neutral coloured rustic kitchen. Green and mint on a white base, with the understated Bentwood Chairs.
Lastly we have a very owner with an open kitchen. Mixing warm wood elements and contrasting simplicity. You see the Arne Jacobsen Series 7 chair in the foreground on the left there – soon to be featured on Stools & Chairs Website.
We stumbled upon this photo on the weekend showing mismatched textures all throughout the room but working seamlessly together to create a calm and beautiful dining area. The soft linens on the table are warmly complemented by the Danish designed Wishbone Chairs. The Wishbone Chair – which have a Chinese inspired design – combine with the browns of the wicker basket and lighting. Just divine! Get the look – click the image!
We here at Stools & Chairs really believe in bringing the Australian customer the best quality lowest priced furniture. We review our prices on our products daily and if we believe we can offer a better deal, we will! We have reduced the price on our popular Provincial Crossback Chairs to under $100 each! As of the time of writing, our White and Black chairs are currently on backorder till the end of April, but the rest are available. They come shipped in a box of 2, but if you want to mix and match colours, just email myself or Sales and we will sort it out for you =)
Another Block-Tastic photo post! The finals are nearly here on Channel 9’s, The Block and we love what the couples have done with their houses. Here’s a few snaps from one of Phil and Amity’s bedrooms using our Provincial White Cross back Chair. It complements the room beautifully and keeps it looking clean and uncluttered. Tell us what you think!
The original Bentwood chair was designed by German-Austrian cabinet maker Michael Thonet (often mispronounced Tho-Nay, the name should be pronounced Tone-et). The Bentwood chair is an elegant and simple design which is made through revolutionary steam bending technology that Thonet mastered. The curved backrest and support is made by heating the timber to 100 degrees Celsius, pressing them into curved cast iron moulds, and then drying them at 70 degrees for a further 20 hours. This results in a very strong, but light piece of timber left for the chair.
Below are some photos of other “Bentwood” Chairs. The first one has been made in China. Some Chinese manufacturers have been manufacturing copies of the Bentwood chair by bending a thicker plywood instead of the traditional steam and mould method. This results in a quicker production time, but other elements of the chair are compromised. The thick nature of the timber takes away its elegant style, and a less than ideal O-ring support for the legs is used.
The image on the right is another example of a cheaply made replica. Even though the bentwood looks slightly more genuine, the leg support still shows the inferior O-ring used, and thicker legs.
Stools & Chairs’ replica of Thonet’s Bentwood Chair is guaranteed to be true to the original. It was been manufactured in Europe with all the same methods that was originally used and this is reflected in the finished product. Our Bentwoods are lightweight, elegant and strong. Get yours now for under $175 each, guaranteed to be the cheapest in Australia for the quality, with a 12 month warranty.
